Grab a tea or coffee from the Minster cafe and hear Robin Lyons, a qualified ‘Climate trainer’ explain the science behind both greenhouse gas emissions and man-made climate change and the effect these are having on our planet. If you’d heard of carbon footprint, here’s the chance to find out more about what this is too.

How to Save On Energy Bills
Vicky Dunn from Grimsby Community Energy, provides some hints and tips on ways that you can save on those looming energy bills.

Kids of all ages can get creative at this drop-in workshop, when artist Wendy Chan will be supporting them to make bugs and flowers from surplus newspaper.

Why not grab a coffee and listen to one of our Culture Cafe talks while children unlock their imaginations.

A Leonardo da Vinci-inspired virtual reality swing experience!

Let Studio Go Go transport you to an exhilarating dream experience. Riders, wearing a virtual reality headset – can swing on one of four rides, each offering a different sensation of flight.

Dreams of Flight celebrates the 500th anniversary of artist Leonardo da Vinci’s creations, and is inspired by his fabulous flying contraptions and his studies of flight. Riders will groan in horror before squealing with delight as they pilot their swing-powered machines over cliff edges, flap over buildings, zoom along the water, soar in formation, spiral upwards through clouds and float back down to earth. But watch out – modern airspace is a little more crowded than da Vinci may have envisaged!

Creator and ‘thrill engineer’ Brendan Walker – has developed this innovative and interactive, future-facing work to excite the public, with each session being completely unique to the user, as it responds to the rider’s motion.

Join artist Ali Pretty from Kinetika, Nicola Pattison from Tape2Tape (Grimsby 10K race organisers), Bailey Greetham-Clark (Be Great Fitness Founder ) as well as local athlete and Iron Woman Lydia Gibbs (also one of the founders of ‘A Platform to Talk’ – a Facebook group that encourages people to talk about their mental health) on a ‘Fit Route’ walk, devised by Tape2Tape in Lockdown.

Ali will lead the walk on the “People’s Mile” in People’s Park, with a flag providing the ‘Grimsby future’s chat’ topic for the walk, giving you plenty to talk about along the way.

An optional four loops will be completed to give time to chat, before walking to and then meeting up in the Minster for 1pm, to review what was discussed and hear Ali, Nicola, Lydia and Bailey discuss health, fitness, creativity and community.

Six striking dancers collide in an uplifting dance riot set to a brand new art rock soundtrack by Hannah Miller and Oli Austin of Moulettes. In this quirky new dance piece, watch playful observations of the yesteryears explode into a ‘punkish’ celebration of individuality and difference.

The starting point for Frock came from Artistic Director Lucy Bennett’s memories of the 80s in England as a young child. Where as her grandparents’ generation took on roles and duties as assigned to men, women, age and positions in society, her parents’ generation were much more daring and questioning. And now in 21st century, individuals seem to have even more control in choosing ‘who you want to be’. Lucy wanted to explore how the choice over self-identity developed over the course of our generations and celebrate where we are in 21st Century through a series of invigorating partner works between a diverse cast of individuals.

Urban Astronaut provides a glimpse of a future that might be… where problems surrounding air pollution have grown to crisis point, is there any way back? What can the Urban Astronaut learn from audiences now that might change his future?

Combining stunning design, innovative performance (using a unique travelling flying machine that suspends the performer 20ft in the air) with simple story telling and moving dance performance, Urban Astronaut travels through towns and cities searching for a solution to the environmental disaster that is present in our near future. The answer is found in a simple encounter with a young girl who provides the one thing the astronaut has lost… hope.

Intriguing, enchanting and thought-provoking, Highly Sprung take on a global issue, making it feel personal and motivating.

We welcome special guest Yama Warashi and band. Expect Japanese folk dance, free jazz, tribal African music and psychedelic sounds.
